The new AtomBox Studio replaces the obsolete QuickTime Atom Viewer, which has served the digital media industry for many years. The new AtomBox Studio comes with support of some new container formats and many new atoms and boxes, providing the user with in-depth detailed container structure and media streams manipulation functionality. The QuickTime, MP4 and MP4-based containers have been one of the leading container formats for delivering and sharing live and on-demand video, for file storage and media streaming. The QuickTime analysis and MP4-based analysis have been extended with the new AtomBox Studio solution, where more than 40 new atoms and boxes have been implemented, following the QuickTime File Format, ISO 14496-12/14/15, Protected Interoperable File Format, 3GPP and Adobe Flash Video File Format specifications. The following container formats are now supported: - QuickTime Media File (.mov) - MP4 Media File (.mp4, .m4v) - Apple iPhone Ringtone Media File (.m4r) - Audio Books and Podcast Media File (.m4a, .m4b) - MP4 Protected Media File (.m4p) - 3GPP Media File (.3gp) - 3GPP2 Media File (.3g2) - Microsoft Smooth Streaming Video Media File (.ismv) - Microsoft Smooth Streaming Audio Media File (.isma) - Flash Video Media File (.f4v) AtomBox Studio can now be used for analysis of Microsoft"s Smooth Streaming ismv and isma media files. The multi-bitrate, HTTP based smooth streaming technology has a real potential of becoming one of the main factors among the streaming solutions, because of its simplicity and in the same time impressive set of features for video-on-demand and live streaming. Flash Video (F4V) has become one of the most common container formats for online video sharing using the latest H.264 video and AAC audio compression. Flash Video analysis is now available with the AtomBox Studio solution, enabling webcasters and internet video providers for powerful file-based container analysis and manipulation. The newly released AtomBox Studio also supports 3GPP and 3GPP2 analysis and media streams manipulation functionality. 3GPP and 3GPP2 are currently dominating container formats in the mobile industry. Along with the above popular formats, various audio books, podcast, protected MP4 and ringtone containers, which are MP4-based, are now supported for analysis and streams manipulation with the new AtomBox Studio solution. The new version can be used in two general modes - Single Mode and Dual Mode. The Single Mode allows the user to perform QuickTime file based and MP4 file based analysis and container manipulation, whereas in Dual Mode the solution can be used for analysis and comparison of the container hierarchy, inner structure and atoms/boxes fields of two file containers. In Dual Mode the two files are placed side by side, for convenience in the comparison process.
